How do you remove your makeup every night? Some may use facial wash, while some others prefer cleansing oil. But for heavy makeup user like me, either one is never enough. Normally I need to remove my eyeliner and lipstick with eye and lips makeup remover. But of course it won't wash away the color makeup off my face. Then I need to rub and cleanse the rest of my makeup with cleansing oil. Usually my face will be so sticky cause I tend to use 1-2 pumps. So after rinsing the oil with tap water, I still have to use facial wash twice for better result. That would take me around 10 minutes. I know some people say it's not good for my skin. And I could feel my skin feel tight afterwards with so many cleansing products. So lately I've been trying Etude House Every Month Cleansing Cream, which actually helps my makeup cleansing process a bit quicker and easier.
Many of you may have heard or used Etude House every month cleansing foam series. There are 12 of them from January to December (1-12), with different ingredients specialized for different skin types. I tried March cleansing foam with apple and tomato as main ingredients and it felt incredible. But now that it's emptied, I was lucky to get and try a new cleanser from Etude House. Instead of the monthly cleansing foam, it's Every Month Cleansing Cream. It's supposed to suit all skin types. And today I will tell you more about this product.
It looks like a normal cleansing foam in a tube. It contains 180 ml of product and is a bit bigger than Etude House Every Month Cleansing Foam. There are two types of this cleansing cream: Moisturize & Revitalizing and Soft & Moist. The one I got is Soft & Moist. It contains 12 types of moist ingredients.
Here is the ingredients list.
WATER, MINERAL OIL, ISOPROPYL PALMITATE, PROPYLENE GLYCOL, CETEARYL ALCOHOL,CORYLUSAVELLANA (HAZEL) BUD EXTRACT, CAMELLIA SINENSIS LEAF EXTRACT, LAVANDULA ANGUSTIFOLIA (LAVENDER) OIL,LAVANDULA ANGUSTIFOLIA (LAVENDER) EXTRACT, LIPPIA CITRIODOR A LEAF EXTRACT, CITRUS MEDICA LIMONUM(LEMON) FRUIT EX TRACT, ROSA CANINA FLOWER OIL, ALTHAEA OFFICINALIS ROOT EXTRACT, CENTELLA ASIATICAEXTRACT, RIBES NIGRUM (BLACK CURRANT) LEAF EXTRACT, VACCINIUM ANGUSTIFOLIUM (BLUEBERRY) FRUIT EXTRACT,VACCINIUM MYRTILLUS FRUIT/LEAF EXTRACT, PYRUS MALUS (APPLE) FRUIT EX TRACT, SACCHARUM OFFICINARUM(SUGAR CANE) EXTRACT, PUNICA GRANATUM EXTRACT, ACER SACCHARUM (SUGAR MAPLE) EX TRACT, ALOE BARBADENSISLE AF EX TRACT, CITRUS A URANTIUM DULCIS (OR ANGE) OIL, CITRUS A URANTIUM DULCIS (OR ANGE)FRUIT EXTRACT, OLEA EUROPAEA (OLIVE) BUD EX TRACT, BETULA ALBA BUD EX TRACT, ANTHEMIS NOBILIS FLOWEREXTRACT, MELALEUCA ALTERNIFOLIA (TEA TREE) LEAF OIL, WINE EXTRACT, JUGLANS REGIA (WALNUT) LEAF EXTRACT,MALTODEXTRIN, GLYCERIN, GLYCERYL STEARATE, BUTYLENE GLYCOL, DISODIUM EDTA, SODIUM L AURETH SULFATE,SORBITAN STEARATE, STEARIC ACID, CARBOMER, CAPRYLIC/CAPRIC TRIGLYCERIDE, TRIETHANOLAMINE, POLYSORBATE60, POLYSORBATE 20, POLYACRYLATE-13, POLYISOBUTENE, PEG-100 STEARATE, CAPRYLYL GLYCOL, PHENOXYETHANOL,FRAGRANCE
Make sure it's sealed like in the picture to ensure that it is brand new. And now I'm going to show you how it performs to remove some makeup I applied on my hand.
I listed the makeup products I use in the picture above. Foundation is normally not easy to be removed by makeup remover alone, but eyeliner and matte lipstick are the hardest for me. I applied Missha Everlasting Lacquer Rouge, which is very matte and quite drying on my dry lips and tend to stick more and tough to be removed. It is still matte and dry on my hand too. Aritaum tint is less 'bad' but it's a tint so it tends to still leave its stains on my lips and also not that quick to wash away.
As you can see the Etude House Every Month Cleansing Cream is in thick white texture. And all I have to do is rub the cream on the makeup I want to remove, without water. I don't usually use that much product, but for review purpose I apply more.
As you can see, after rinsing the cleansing cream, there's still some eyeliner and lip tint remains. I actually expected the eyeliner would stay. I think especially for lip tints and eyeliner, I still need to use makeup remover.
Previously my cleansing routine is:
Makeup remover > cleansing oil > water rinsing> facial wash 2x = around 8-10 minutes
And now my current cleansing routine:
Makeup remover (on eyes and lips) > Every Month Cleansing Cream > water rinsing> facial wash = 4-5 minutes
PROS
- Affordable
- Quick cleansing
- No irritation
- Fit all skin types
- Moisturizing
- A little goes a long way
CONS
- Thick eyeliner and lip products need to be removed properly with makeup remover first
OVERALL 4.5/5
Etude House Every Month Cleansing Cream is a one for all cleanser with moisturizing and revitalizing properties. It feels soft and not irritating, even when it's being rubbed near the eyes. All you need to do is apply adequately and massage gently to remove the makeup on your face. Once it covers the face and you rubs enough, rinse with water to cleanse the cream. Facial wash is still needed to remove excess makeup and/or oil. The only downside is for people who love heavy eyeliners and eye makeup, makeup remover is still advisable to use before this cleansing cream for more cleaner result. What I love about this cleansing cream is it makes my face feels soft and moisturize afterwards without any tight feeling. It speeds up my cleansing process as well, so I don't really find what I don't love about this product. People who don't like sticky cleansing oil might want to try this cleansing cream! Last but not least, this Every Month Cleansing Cream is my current favorite cleanser that I use everyday.
