It's been a long while, but hello again everyone! Today I'm back with a new blush review. I think after blogging for nearly 2 years, it's my second time to post a blush review. That's cause I didn't really use a lot of blush in the past. I probably only have around 4-5 blushes in my makeup drawer (it paled in comparison with my foundation/BB/CC creams collection). Anyway, I still remember the first time I got my first ever blush when I was in high school. I got a pink blush from Missha and I was in love with it until it emptied and I couldn't afford a new one cause it was around $30 back then and as a student I couldn't really get a new one lol. So relieving those sad sweet moments in the past, I got another pink blush from Missha. It's called Missha M Prism Wave Blusher. The pink shade was nearly similar to the first blush I had before. Actually my past blushers have been pigmented and too pigmented which is actually great for photoshoot. But not so great when I go out cause then people would stare lol. So this time around, I think I would try a more sheer blusher and picked this one. And compared to my first ever blush, this blush is way way more affordable. So before I babble more nonsense, let's just go to the full review and pictures.
Actually I'm quite surprised when I opened it cause the box alone is already pretty big. And when I opened the box packaging, the compact is as big. But hey I love makeup in big packaging lol it means it'll last longer, I hope. The packaging might not be so travel friendly, however it is still not heavy.
The compact comes with a mini brush. The curved brush handle looks so much like Bourjois blusher brush. It is quite dense and also the bristles are soft. I still use my regular Sigma brush though, just cause I'm more used to it. The thing I love about the compact in first glance is that it comes with big enough mirror. It's a big help seeing most of my blushers are quite small and don't have any mirrors attached.
There's a plastic separator on top of the blush to store the brush. I still keep this separator as it is pretty helpful so the brush it comes with won't pick up the blush and it won't accidentally damage the blush either. Yes though I mostly use my usual brush when I'm at home, but when I bring this blusher around, I tend to use the curved brush cause it's more convenient.
This is how the blusher looks like. It has 2 blush shades. One is the shimmery pink blush while the other one is more of a pink highlighter. When both are blended and applied, you get a beautiful shimmery pink on your cheeks.
It looks like this when blended and distributed evenly on the back of my hand. It is less pink and more shimmery in my opinion. It is pretty for evening events and night out, but it's pretty sheer and almost invisible during the day unless I apply a bunch of them. Bu it is beautiful and subtle for people who don't really like to wear overly pigmented blush that looks too obvious.
PROS
- Sheer (can be a con too for some people)
- Comes in a compact with a brush
- Pretty shades of pink with shimmers
- Can be either sheer blush or just highlighter, or both
- Affordable
CONS
- Might not be travel friendly
- Not for people who like pigmented blusher
OVERALL ❤❤❤❤❤
While this Missha M Prism Wave Blusher isn't my usual cup of tea, but I have to admit I really like the shade of pink of this Glam Pink. And no matter how many times I swipe, it just won't look like I applied too much which can be both positive and negative for some people. But for people who adores sheer blush with more shimmers, this is the one for you. The blusher can be used as shimmery blush, highlighter or both. It suits everyday use too as I apply this to work, every 2 days in a week at least cause it looks my dull sleepy face looks brighter and more glowy with a hint of pink. I only swirl a bit and make sure I don't apply too much cause I don't want my cheeks to look too shiny at work. I also use this blusher on days I need to go out, but still want to look subtle (and glowy lol). Usually when I have too thick eye makeup with ultra thick falsies.
